“SEACON HAMBURG” Surveyed by China Classification Society (CCS) was Successfully Delivered

On April 24, the delivery ceremony for No. 2 ship “SEACON HAMBURG” of the new Panamax 85000-ton bulk carrier surveyed by CCS was held in Longxue Island, Nansha, Guangzhou. CCS Nansha Office was invited to attend the ceremony.

1 Basic Information

“SEACON HAMBURG”, about 228.9m long, 36.0m wide, 20.15m deep, has a design draft of 11.8m, a structural draft of 14.0m, and a structural draft capacity of about 85000 DWT. Compared with similar ships, its main engine has a normal daily fuel consumption of 25.2 tons, decreasing by about 4.5%; its speed reaches 14.19 knots, 1.3% faster than the design speed; under the same draft conditions, an additional 610 tons of cargo can be loaded, and the cabin capacity is increased by about 1%. It has higher cost-effectiveness and economic benefits since its fuel consumption, speed, cabin capacity and other performance indicators have reached world-leading level.

Moreover, it also meets the new Panama Canal regulations, the latest emission requirements for nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, and the latest specifications for vibration and noise. It is suitable for loading bulk cargo, including coal, ore, grains, cement, etc.

2.Other Features

“SEACON HAMBURG” also applies advanced shipbuilding technologies such as intelligent welding robots, digital docks, and simulated loading. According to ship model test data of SSSRI and HSVA, its linear resistance is the lowest among that of the same class.

During the survey, Guangzhou Branch has actively cooperated with the shipyard, solved relevant technical problems for the shipowner and shipyard, and always adhered to the ship survey spirit of “unity, dedication, fairness, and efficiency”, receiving unanimous praise from the shipyard and shipowner.
